  5. Such a slow time in sports, especially football. Saw a rumor that Atl reached out to the niners about Lance on Monday. I would take a trade if it was for Kyle Pitts, he's basically who I had wanted the 49ers to draft instead of a QB in 2021, felt he would have had a much greater impact on the team and a tandem of Pitts & Kittle would have been 2011 Pats dominant, minus the murdering.

    1. It's pretty much throw shit up against the wall and see what sticks season.

    2. Given Lance is no longer the front runner to be the QBOTF, if they were to get any good offer for him they should probably take it.

    3. Not sure I agree, Scooter. I think if Lance shows them the kind of development they need to see, and the emphatic statements about not wanting to be anywhere but in SF, (why would he when he's with one of the best offensive minds in football?, see why: Sam Darnold chose to come here), the 49ers could decline his 5th year option next year, and then extend Lance like the Packers did Love. They knew when they drafted him he'd be a project, and the injuries derailed their timeline.

  6. If Purdy turns out to be a flash in the pan, I believe Sam Darnold will step in a do a really good job. He has a much stronger arm then Purdy. He can escape the rush and he can run the ball. I go back and forth with Lance but something is telling me...

    1. Darnold has been a turnover machine since his days at USC. I hope he never sees the field for obvious reasons but maybe the most important one, Shanny's blood pressure.

    2. There's two universities where you never trust their QBs...usc and osu. The best qb ever from usc was Carson Palmer, best from osu was whomever has an actual career at this point be it Fields or Stroud..at this point the best QB ever was Kirk Herbstreit, dudes had more of a career in football than all other osu QBs combined, and is making 10M per year doing Amazon NFL games.

So yeah, Darnold is not anything other than a backup at this point.

  8. Saints have released Billy Price. Is it worth bringing him and letting him compete in training camp? I suppose it depends mostly on the price.
