Good afternoon everyone and welcome to gameday live for the season finale. San Francisco can wrap up the #2 seed with a win today, and the #1 with an Eagles loss. These two franchises are moving in opposite directions with the Cardinals likely moving on from their GM and HC, while the 49ers will forge ahead with their Super Bowl aspirations. I anticipate the 49ers getting out to an early lead and then strategically removing starters in the 2nd half. Let's enjoy a relaxing game today before moving on to the high anxiety playoffs. Go Niners!
49ers inactives:
- G Aaron Banks (ankle, knee)
- QB Jimmy Garoppolo (foot)
- DL Kevin Givens (knee)
- LB Dre Greenlaw (back)
- CB Ambry Thomas (ankle)
- TE Ross Dwelley
- DE Jackson
Just turned on my TV to see Nick Mullens throw an INT. Hope it isn't an omen of any sort :)
ReplyDeleteGotta do a shot when Mullens throws a pick, lol!

DeleteVikings won their game.
ReplyDeleteMike Tomlin is a heck of a coach. 16 seasons as a HC amd still yet to have a losing season. Looked for sure like he was destined for one this year at 3-7, but goes 6-1 down the stretch and only barely misses put on a playoff spot.
ReplyDeleteThis is why the fire Kyle jabronis need to just go away. You don't let go of good coaches even in down years.
DeleteYep, agreed.
DeleteCMC is so good. Giving up the quick TD obviously not great, but sometimes those trick plays will work. All comes down to how the D responds.
ReplyDeleteHe is good.

ReplyDeleteJust ignore him. I will delete his comments.
DeleteI will. Just happened to come in and saw they were already deleted. It would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

DeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember ever being so worried the defense would give up a 3rd and long as this year (esp. compared to 2019)
ReplyDeleteThis is what it's been like under Saleh and Ryans if the pass rush isn't getting it done.

DeleteNice! Excellent read, pass and catch.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope our secondary plays better ASAP.
ReplyDeleteAs Scooter commented, Niners will have to rely on the pass rush to get to the QB on third downs. Lenoir is who he is.
DeleteLenoir is feeling like the new Witherspoon. AW was even afraid to tackle near the end there, you don't want to see it happen but feels like Lenoir is heading down that track.
DeleteHe was really bad last week and that deep TD today was a rough start. But he's been fine since.
DeleteFirst Niner receiver with a 100 yards in a long, long time.
ReplyDeletemissed the third zero!
DeleteWell... since 2021, when Deebo did it 😁
DeleteHa ha -- my bad! Should have specified non-widebacks 😆
DeleteJJ came to teach McGlinchey a few remaining lessons before he retires....
ReplyDeleteJJ has now sacked 50 different QBs!! Wonder what the record is...
DeleteWelcome back Eli!
ReplyDeleteDon't see any rust on him!
DeleteGipson almost pulled a Tartt but thought better of it 😂
ReplyDelete🤣
DeleteThey were already playing a lot of backups, but with that TD they should now look to rest as many starters as they can the rest of this game
ReplyDeleteWent off a bit early, but now they can.
DeleteProbably needs to keep the starting tackles in as long as Purdy plays...
DeleteWilliams was replaced by Moore that last drive.
Deleteok -- missed that.
DeletePurdy definitely has helped revive Kittle's pass catching career
ReplyDeleteWith this win:
ReplyDeleteThe Niners clinch the second seed
Keeps the winning streak alive
Home field advantage is coming 35-35
Swept the Division
and put a smile on my face.
Niners are 35-35 in regular season but 37-35 at Levi's overall, IIRC.
DeleteI suspect it will be 39-35 overall when it's all said and done.
DeleteCongrats Niner Nation! Lets get that 6th SB!!!
