49ers Inactives:
CB Deommodore Lenoir RB Trey Sermon G Aaron Banks DL Charles Omenihu S Jimmie Ward (quad) DT Maurice Hurst WR Travis Benjamin
Cardinals Inactives:
QB Kyler Murray
WR DeAndre Hopkins WR A.J. Green is on reserve COVID list, and DL JJ Watt is on IR.
That's a huge boon for the 49ers. All their questionable guys active, but Cardinals without their QB and top 2 WRs.
ReplyDeleteSuffice it to say the Cardinals defense will be seeing a little bit different offense this time around. Go Niners!
DeleteLets hope Jimmy steps up and that Trey gets soms significant pt.
ReplyDeleteElsewhere in the NFL, the Patriots are doing the 49ers a favour with a big lead over the Panthers, but Ravens currently not as they trail the Vikings by 7.
ReplyDeleteFalcons are well ahead of the Saints as well, but tbh I am not sure if that is a bad thing. If Seimian is the Saints starting QB here out, they may not be such locks for the playoffs so losing to the Falcons may not be a bad thing for the 49ers.
Lol Falcons.
DeleteFangio still has McCarthy's number!
DeleteGood on the Falcons, gave up the big lead but managed to claw it back at the death.
DeleteLooks as though we'll be playing bully ball today.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Kittle will play about half the snaps. Woerner needs to continue his upward trend.
DeleteJimmy G is 3-1 against the Cardinals. Just needs to play mistake-free offense and execute the running game with Kittle.
ReplyDeleteGeez
ReplyDeleteThis start is truly emblematic of the 49ers season. Just a complete lack of discipline and attention to detail. And look unprepared for what the opposition is doing.
ReplyDeleteNeed a swift kick up the backside.
Niners going all pass happy while inadequately protecting QB: check.
ReplyDeleteTurning the ball over: check.
On defense, cannot stop the run or lateral short passes: check.
Boooo
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me
ReplyDeleteNicely done Armstead
ReplyDeleteholy cow
ReplyDeleteLousy angle and tackling by Al Shaair
ReplyDeleteThis team. Seriously. How many times do they need to extend opponent drives on 3rd and long through stupid mistakes? Quite frankly it is embarrassing the lack of discipline this team has.
ReplyDeleteIts unbelievable.
DeleteWTF you need trickery now to win
ReplyDeleteDoes that give you a hint KS what plays you should be calling
ReplyDeleteIts going to be that kind of a game I see.
ReplyDeleteUneffingbelievable...man o man
ReplyDeleteGood grief. Same $hit over and over again. Mistake after mistake.
ReplyDeleteCooler heads should prevail. Just calm down and play to your strengths which is the running game. Let your offense run through Mitchell....Kyle keeps putting the ball in the Jimmy G's hands and the receivers who are all short on confidence or returning from injury and bad things happen. Keep running the damn ball Kyle!
ReplyDeleteThis is not the year.
ReplyDeleteF me. Are you kidding? Actually get the stop on 3rd down and then give the penalty for a first down for taunting? WTH is wrong with this team?
ReplyDeleteThat's the way. Play uber aggressive on D against an offense that is running a lot of quick game and screens. Get a bunch of your players upfield and behind the receiver and see what happens.
ReplyDeleteThis team is getting everything they deserve.
Bad communication among the D, bad technique by defenders, bad team overall...
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget - bad coaching.
DeleteYep, there is really no other way to put it. This is a bad team.
DeleteThe frustrating part is the reason they are a bad team is the lack of discipline.
One thing over the past four a bit years the 49ers could hang their hat on is they rarely looked like they had given up, no matter the record.
ReplyDeleteSure looked like the defense had given up on that drive.
This team is less than the sum of the individual players. Lacks cohesiveness, consistency and cannot play complementary football.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to use one player, as an example of Kyle's failures in 2021, I think Dre Kirkpatrick would have to be "that" guy! Two embarrassing plays from Kirkpatrick's, over the last 3 weeks, have sealed defeat for the 49ers in embarrassing fashion.
ReplyDeleteImagine a personnel strategy of going into a season knowing that your season would likely depend on WASHED-UP CORNERBACKS?
I mean .... SERIOUSLY? The one position where decline/age is the most obvious hindrance. Hey Kyle, FYI, Cornerbacks tend to wash-up at the age of 30, so you might not want to use signing washed-up veterans as a reasonable personnel strategy!
I think we need some tough love from the coaching staff. The injuries to the Cardinals had no effect on them. That's a tough minded, well disciplined and strong willed team. We're pretty much the opposite.
ReplyDeleteJimmy's INT here at the end of the game was so "APROPOS"
DeleteAdjective - of an appropriate or pertinent nature
Synonyms: APPROPIATE - suitable for a particular person or place or condition etc;
"apt", "pertinent", being of striking appropriateness and pertinence; of an appropriate or pertinent nature
Jimmy was the only reason we were in that game Einstein!
DeleteBecause of Shanahan's severe limitations, this team needs someone with considerable experience at the DC position. Ryans is not at the point in his career where he is that guy.
ReplyDeleteWhen Arizona scored their 31st point, I'd seen enough and went home!
ReplyDelete* Seriously, you'd have to be suffering from masochistic tendencies to enjoy watching the 9ers this season! * Unless Deommodore Lenoir is injured, can anyone explain WHY CB Kirkpatrick is still on the field today?
* This is NOT a playoff team! Too many mistakes, players show little urgency and looking like they're sleep walking.
* It's time the 9er's set players that continue to commit stupid penalties.
I hear you, GEEP. That was the point I hopped on the internet to vent over Kyle's dependence of washed up CB's, specifically DRE KIRCKPATRICK, after he got absolutely trucked by the Cardinals ball carrier!! Simply an unacceptable personnel strategy. Cornerback is a position where guys fall off the cliff usually around the age of 30.
DeleteHow old is Dre? He was born in OCT of 1989 ... meaning he's 32 fricken years old! SMH!
I've officially seen enough!
DeleteJimmy played pretty well, but was actually outplayed by the oppositions BACKUP QB, so ......
Honestly though, this doesn't ultimately fall on Jimmy. Kyle Shanahan knew he needed to make a change at QB, and evolve his offense, but he ultimately stuck with Jimmy one season too long.
However, the 49ers issues go well beyond Jimmy, in fact, if I were ranking their problems, Jimmy would be a ways down the lis .... but he would ultimately be on that list!
Your right 49Reasons and with Trey the game was closer
