Josh Norris and Hayden Winks at Underdog Fantasy are one of my favourite places to go for prospect breakdowns. Have some good ones up on WRs this year. Highly recommend.
ReplyDeleteInterestingly, not that high on Brazzell or Hurst.
Yep, they've been proven to be fairly accurate in their assessments over the years as well.
DeleteRazor, I know you don't like Dieter, but I recommend listening to his chat with Jason Aponte (episode titled "Do the 49ers have a draft plan?") - really great insight into Kyle and how he works with his coaches around the 30 minute mark.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'll check it out.
DeleteShoup (having issues signing in right now)
ReplyDeleteBarham has interesting numbers here... may need to look at him again.
I should clarify in regards to Brazzel he is not my favorite, I just prefer him over Boston. Due to his upside and the way he produced even against the best opponents while Boston was a non factor against Washington's best opponents.
If I'm being honest I think others like Bernard or Cooper are better fits for Kyle.
I get the appeal of Brazzell. I think if he works out he'll be a lot like Brian Thomas Jr.
DeleteLouisville DT Rene Konga with a 7.03 3-cone at 298 pounds.📈📈
ReplyDeleteFletcher Cox had the best 3C for a DT I can remember, which was 7.07 at 298 pounds (Aaron Donald was 7.11).
Gregory Cosell says the Texas A&M star is the most dynamic WR in the draft.
ReplyDelete“There's a receiver whose tape I REALLY, REALLY like… Ted Hurst from Georgia State…”
ReplyDelete“If he went to a P4 we’d be talking about him as a first round pick WITHOUT question”, Cosell.
I must be missing something on Hurst. Moves well, obviously, but there's still a lot of work ahead for him to be successful in the NFL. He should be a 3rd rounder at best imo, because he's a developmental player with upside.
DeleteOver 151,000 are already on a waiting list for 49ers-Rams tickets in Australia.
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers spoke with Wisconsin LB Darryl Peterson at his Pro Day.
ReplyDeleteThe more I get into the draft this year the more I realise that coming away with just 2-3 guys that end up as long term contributors will be an accomplishment.
ReplyDelete2026 NFL Draft pass-catchers with the most explosive catches (16+ yards) in 2025, per TruMedia:
ReplyDelete🍿 Makai Lemon, USC - 31
🍿 Skyler Bell, UConn - 28
🍿 Eric McAlister, TCU - 26
🍿 Germie Bernard, Alabama - 24
🍿 Harrison Wallace III, Ole Miss - 23
🍿 Denzel Boston, Washington - 23
🍿 Chris Brazzell II, Tennessee - 22
🍿 Elijah Sarratt, Indiana - 21
🍿 Eli Heidenreich, Navy - 21
🍿 Caleb Douglas, Texas Tech - 21
🍿 KC Concepcion, Texas A&M - 21
🍿 Lewis Bond, Boston College - 20
🍿 Ted Hurst, Georgia St. - 20
Josh Norris and Hayden Winks recently did a breakdown on Germie Bernard which is a good watch. Encapsulates the player well imo. Smart, does all the little things well, tough, reliable, but also a somewhat limited athlete. Feels like a guy that will be in the league a long time as a solid #2/#3 WR.
ReplyDeleteDenzel Boston pancakes defenders, catches everything, runs a full route tree, and he's one of the most advanced WRs in this draft.
ReplyDeleteVirginia Tech DL Kelvin Gilliam had breakfast with the 49ers prior to his Pro Day today.
ReplyDeleteIt almost feels like the 49ers plan to go heavier in UDFA's this year since they have no picks after Round 4. Been lining them up these past 2 weeks.
Very much so. I actually am starting to think rather than using those 4ths to trade back for more picks, they might use them to move up to get guys they like in a really weak draft.
DeleteIt cost them 31, 117 and 176 to move up 6 spots for Aiyuk. I wonder if they could get up to pick 22 (LAC) for a 4th?
DeleteI think a lot will come down to finding a team that has a bunch of guys they like that are available at their pick. Which I think could happen - that 15-50 range will have a lot of varying opinions.
DeleteI could see them trade a couple 4ths to get a 3rd round pick
DeleteThe Chargers could get themselves a nice OG at 27.
DeleteRazor,
DeleteDo you see the 49ers trading back out of the 1st round?
I don't think so OldCoach.
DeleteDartmouth DB Sean Williams turned heads at Pro Day and met with San Francisco, per Aaron Wilson.
ReplyDelete📊 10 career INTs
⚡ 4.53 speed
🚀 40” vertical
EDGE Darryl Peterson from Wisconsin confirms he had “an in-person meeting with the 49ers at Wisconsin's pro day”. An actual sit-down meeting. He had 6.5 sacks & 11.5 TFLs in '25. Versatile edge rusher kicked inside to play 3-tech on passing downs.
ReplyDeleteBringing in Height for a visit, in person meeting with Peterson, they're definitely doing their homework on OLB type edges. I think these meetings are the strongest indication yet that the 49ers will be using 5-man fronts more this year.
DeleteAlex Harkey (6’6 308) Oregon (#71)
ReplyDelete+ Quick feet and active hands
+ Experience playing both right tackle and right guard
+ 74.0 pass blocking grade in 2025
+ Converted tight end and those movement skills show when he gets out blocking in space
+ Stays active and looking for work in pass protection
+ 31” vertical jump
+ Heavy hands and upper-body strength
+ Finishing mentality
- 14 career penalties with 9 of them coming during the 2025 season
- 31 3/4” arm length

- Lower level of competition at Texas State prior to 2025
Draft Projection: Day 3
Fa’alili Fa’amoe (6’5 311) Wake Forest
ReplyDelete+ Grip strength
+ Over 2,500 career snaps played
+ Quick out of his stance
+ Finishing mentality
+ Blocking on the second level
+ Powerful initial punch
+ Anchor strength
+ Active hands
+ Upper-body strength
- Lacks ideal lateral agility

- 4 penalties in 2025 and 21 total for his career
- Allowed 20 pressures and 2 sacks in 2025 and 85 pressures and 13 sacks for his career
Draft projection: Late Day 3
Iowa G Beau Stephens has some of the most torque power of any player in this class. When he gets into the chest of the man across from him, he's consistently looking to toss them.
ReplyDeleteJohn Michael Gyllenborg (6’6 249) Wyoming
ReplyDelete+ Big target
+ 9.92 relative athletic score
+ Moves more like a wide receiver than he does a tight end
+ Vertical threat
+ Good straight-line speed with a 4.60 40-yard dash
+ Run after catch ability
+ Ball security with 0 career fumbles
+ High upside player that didn’t start playing football until his senior year of high school
- 9.0% career drop rate
- Injury history includes collarbone, ankle, and another undisclosed leg injury
- Physicality at the point of attack as a blocker
Draft Projection: Day 3
There’s no guarantee that Nick Bosa, after his third torn ACL, will ever be the same player he once was. Even with Mykel’s first ACL tear, he might not return to his original form. And if they brought in Joey Bosa, he’s also plagued by injuries. I think it would be a huge mistake if the Niners didn’t take an edge rusher with their first pick. (I read somewhere that edge has replaced left tackle as the most important position other than the QB).
ReplyDeleteDepends on if they want a big DE or a DPR. We've seen them prioritize the big DE but we haven't seen them prioritize the DPR until late Round 2.
DeleteThe Niners need to stop the run, and while they’ve done really well in that area, I’m not sure they’ve set the edge.
DeleteLook at their top 30. To me it looks as though they want to add the DPR after Huff's retirement.
DeleteAgreed razor. Of course it's possible they are keeping under wraps their interest in a bigger edge, but atm all signs point to wanting a smaller edge that can also play some OLB.
DeleteRoute adjusted YAC over expected for the WRs the 49ers met with:
ReplyDeleteKC Concepcion - 37% more YAC than expected
Denzel Boston - 11% more
Jordan Hudson - 10% more
Omar Cooper Jr - 7% more
I felt that Concepcion might be in the 28-32 1st rd range, but some team is going to be impressed by those YAC percentage numbers. He might potentially put himself in the 25-30 range at this point.
DeleteConcepcion is the ultimate litmus test of what matters to teams in a WR. If ball skills/ reliability at the catch point aren't a priority, then teams will love him and he should probably go top 20. Because everything other than ball skills/ reliability at the catch point are as good as it gets in this draft class at WR.
DeleteHowever, for teams that value ball skills/ reliability at the catch point highly, he's a tough eval. Upside is clearly evident, but will he make the catch over the middle when it matters?
The kid has had miscues when it comes to catching. That being said, his YAC numbers are hard to ignore. I know that it's almost blasphemy to say this now. But, Jerry Rice had the dropsies in his rookie season. He turned out pretty good 🐐🔥
DeleteKC has had dropsies for more than one season. Main issue for me though is traffic seems to give him pause, and I don't think he'll be a guy that bails his QB out of a bad throw very often.
DeleteOn the good side, yes, what he does with ball in hand is excellent. But what excites me more is what he does without the ball - really good route runner at all levels.
It will be interesting to see what he becomes in the next few years.
DeleteConcepcion could be drafted anywhere between 11-27.
DeleteCaleb Douglas (6’4 206) Texas Tech
ReplyDelete+ Great size and 32 1/2” arm length
+ Straight-line speed and ran a 4.39 40-yard dash
+ Strong hands and expanded catch radius
+ 9.54 relative athletic score
+ Can break through arm tackles after the catch
+ Redzone target and weapon with 13 touchdowns over the last 2 years
+ Toughness over the middle
- 7 drops in 2025/11.5% drop rate
- Surprisingly low 37% contested catch rate for his career
- Limited production during his two seasons at Florida in 2022 and 2023
Draft projection: Day 3
Nate Boerkircher (6’5 245) Texas A&M
ReplyDelete+ Powerful at the point of attack as a blocker
+ 72.2 run blocking grade in 2025
+ 86.4% completion rate when targeted during the 2025 season
+ 75.0% contested catch rate
+ 3 touchdowns on his 19 catches in 2025
+ Work ethic as a former walk-on
+ Lines up as an h-back, in the slot, on the outside, and in-line
- 1.12 yards per route ran in 2025
- Sustaining blocks out in space could improve
- Limited career receiving production with just 417 yards in 5 seasons
- Turning 25 years old as a rookie
Draft projection: Day 3
Wesley Williams (6’4 256) Duke
ReplyDelete+ 7.5 sacks in 2024
+ 43 total pressures in 2024 and another 46 pressures in 2025
+ Instinctive as a run defender
+ 9.7% stop rate in 2025
+ Active hands with a good rip move in his pass rush arsenal
+ Finishes plays with violence
+ High effort player
- 19.6% missed tackle rate in 2024 and 23.5% during the 2025 season
- 31” arm length
- Inconsistent burst off the snap
- 15.5% win rate on true pass sets in 2025 isn’t awful, but still on the lower end of the edge players in this class
Draft Projection: Day 3
5 Pass Rushing DTs on Day 3:
ReplyDeleteRene Konga - 6'4 300 | 6 sacks
Landon Robinson - 6'0 287 | 14.5 sacks
Gracen Halton - 6'2 293 | 8.5 sacks
Zane Durant - 6'1 290 | 10 sacks
Kaleb Proctor - 6'2 291 | 15 sacks
Halton and Proctor are guys I really like. Durant and Robinson would be my second choices.
ReplyDelete49ers LB Nick Martin was fully cleared from the concussion protocol right after the season ended, per John Lynch.
ReplyDeleteLynch says Renardo Green trade rumors are false, "we've never spoken to anyone", and that new 49ers DC Raheem Morris is excited to work with the young CB.
ReplyDeleteAnother prediction from the Krueger group proven wrong again.
