Skyy's The Limit
Roster Manipulation
-PUP/NFI is only for players who began camp on PUP/NFI. You can't have practiced and then go on it. And it's a 4-game commitment for anyone transferred to regular season PUP/NFI. Among the candidates: Aiyuk, YGM, Rourke -IR placements before cutdown cannot simply be activated this season. Injured players whom the 49ers want to return this season, if not on PUP/NFI, must make the 53-man cut before going to IR -49ers will have 2 "designated to return" IR spots and those players won't count vs initial 53 — but they must be used AT Tuesday's cutdown, not before. Among the candidates: Givens and Puni -The practice squad has been more useful than ever since the NFL's 2020 rules changes. If used cleverly, it can be seen as an effective extension of the 53-man roster. The trick lies in strategically cutting and re-signing the appropriate players in a way that minimizes outside poaching -If/when Demarcus Robinson is suspended, he won't take up a 53-man roster spot. This will set the table for one of many temporary maneuvers. Expect others right at the cutdown, including releases following by re-signings the very next day after some strategic IR placements

OL Stunt Technique
FELICIANO, "Whenever you have a load front like that everyone needs to set tighter just in case of games. Colby has to play with more extension and not get his head buried in the block so he can see the game happening. Spence can stay tighter as well so it’s an easier pass off".
This is why its so important to have continuity across the OL because these are issues that arise from not playing together in the system long enough. These will be ironed out over the course of the season.

Kevin Givens and Valdez Takes?
Sebastian Valdez is a DT prospect in the 2025 draft class who's odds of making the roster just went up with the news Kevin Givens will be out awhile with a peck injury. Expect him to go on IR. As you can see Valdez scored a 9.22 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 145 out of 1847 DT from 1987 to 2025.
6.3 sacks/season (best in the class)
35 tackles/season (2nd best in the class)
60th percentile+ in both pass rush and run production

Rookie Noises
Uton Stout: Odds on favorite to be the starting nickel cb on Sept. 7th.
C. J. West: Best looking rookie DT in this regimes tenure. Bull rush is a problem immediately for opposing iOL.
Mykel Williams: Doesn't have the elasticity or speed off the edge of a true sack master but he sets the edge and is a problem inside against OG's where he'll make his living rushing the passer.
Nick Martin: Would be the starting WLB if not for the great camp Dee Winters is having. He's currently running with the second defense.
Jordan Watkins: He's the 3rd or 4th WR in the pecking order as well as taking reps as their primary PR.
Jakob Robinson: He's running with the number 2 defense as their outside CB. His closing speed has been on display.
Corey Kiner: With James and Guerendo out he's been showcasing his contact balance and availability.
Jordan James: Knee injury costing him but has looked really good. Receiving skills have been on point along with all their RBs.
Sebastian Valdez: Power and quicks with no length. Beat Colby twice in a row.
Alfred Collins: Behind the 8 ball but improving. He's ahead of West in the rotation curiously enough.
Conner Colby: He's been the LG with the number 2 offense. Coach Foerster, "Colby's strength is PassPro, and it's surprising given he wasn't asked to do much of it at Iowa, but his run blocking is not up to par yet".
Junior Bergen: The PR duties look to be between Watkins and Bergen. They've used him a bit on offense but he'll need to show he's the better PR option to make the roster.
Marques Sigle: Behind the 8 ball and running with the number 2 defense.
