ReplyDeleteRenardo Green:
ReplyDelete2024 (389 coverage snaps):
74.3 coverage grade
70 targets
44 receptions allowed
493 yards
11.2 y/rec
3 TDs allowed
2025 (557 coverage snaps):
54.2 grade
71 targets
37 receptions
445 yards
12.0 y/rec
2 TDs allowed
I don't understand this grading He had pretty much the same amount of targets each year. In 25 he gave up 7 less receptions, 48 less yards and 1 less TD but his coverage grade is 20 points lower. ????
DeleteI don't think he was as bad as that grade OldCoach. I believe he'll have a great year this season.
Delete2 questions
Delete1. Is the grade soley based on coverage?
2. Given the amount of zone coverage SF uses grading Coverage is similar to grading the Oline. You can clearly see if someone "f's" up ie falls down guy blows buy them. But unless you know the rules for that particular call vs those particular route combinations its hard to tell often who is at fault for certain receptions.
Over the course of a season I think you can get an idea for how someone played but if the grading system is heavily weighted for any particular thing it would be easy to skew the overall grade.
Based on coverage. The "rules" plays a part in grading as well as the fact that qb's likely targeted Green over Lenoir.
DeleteGreen regressed in 2025, and his run in with Shanahan didn't help him. Do you guys feel that Green is a lock to start this season? I'm not sure at this moment.
ReplyDeleteMaybe not a "lock" but definitely the leading candidate opposite Lenoir.
DeleteI agree. I don't see anyone at moment that can unseat Green. Hopefully, Morris can sharpen him.
