ReplyDeleteI agree, Razor. Football is right around the corner, and I'm getting ready for another great season that can only be made perfect if topped off with a Super Bowl victory. How great would it be for the 49ers to win the SB on our country's 250 year anniversary.

ReplyDeleteLiving out in the Central Valley in CA. I was able to take my young son to a 49ers TC at UOP in Stockton. I remember watching an unknown 3rd rd rookie WR working out, that looked darn good. Turned out it was Terrell Owens, who is now in the HOF.

With the 49ers over the '27 cap by about $35M they keep accumulating enough to rollover.
Is Joey Bosa still a financially feasible target?
ReplyDeleteI think he is. You figure they'd like to roll over $50M minimum. Leaves them plenty to sign their class and add one or two F/A's. They haven't even opened Bosa's deal yet and they likely will once they get a good look at him in camp.
DeleteAt this point in time I think I would rather see them sign Clowney. I think he has more left in the tank than Joey Bosa. Also Clowney seems to stay healthy better than Bosa. Bosa has missed 41 games due to injury over the last 5 seasons while Clowney has missed 22 games due to injury over the same time period. Clowney would also come much cheaper. He played for 3.5 mill last year and Bosa made 12.5 mill

ReplyDeleteI'd be ok with Clowney, especially at a low cost. But, as you mentioned, his injuries and somewhat disappointing career since entering the league honestly gives me pause. But, I could say the same thing about Joey Bosa. The thing with JB, is that when he's healthy he is a very good player. When healthy, Clowney has mostly been just a little above average.
