The most interesting element of the TW contract for mine is that he's taking a pay cut. Yes, more money guaranteed which is always nice, but he's getting less this year than he was scheduled to get.
ReplyDelete49ers OT Austen Pleasants has officially signed his exclusive rights free agent tender at $1.075M for this season.
ReplyDeleteWR Eric McAlister, slated to be a Day 3 selection, suffered a broken foot while doing position drills at his Pro Day, sources say. The Jones fracture may cause him to slip a bit, though he should be ready with plenty of time for the season.
ReplyDeleteUnder Shanahan and Lynch:
ReplyDelete- 4 of 9 first-round picks have been DL
2026 NFL Draft LB prospects with the most pressures in 2025, per TruMedia:
ReplyDelete😤 Drue Watts, Memphis - 31
😤 Jack Kelly, BYU - 25
😤 Bryun Parham, UConn - 22
😤 Anthony Hill Jr., Texas - 15
😤 Kaleb Elarms-Orr, TCU - 14
😤 Aiden Fisher, Indiana - 14
😤 Kyle Louis, Pittsburgh - 13
😤 Harold Perkins Jr., LSU - 13
😤 Sonny Styles, Ohio St. - 12
😤 Arvell Reese, Ohio St. - 11
Glad the TW and Front Office dance is over and he is locked in for two years with less pay. Good way to do business.
ReplyDeleteFirst two picks are gonna be DE and WR (in no specific order).
Excited for this season, things falling in place....have very high hopes.
I really think Lynch would like to trade back at least once and possibly more. He admits that he would like more picks and He said they have less players graded as 1st round picks than last year. If they can find trade partners I could see them trading back once or twice from #27 and once or twice in the 4th round.
ReplyDeleteSomebody is getting traded. Whether it's Brown or Winters, one of them is getting moved for a day 3 pick.
Deletefinal 49er 2026 mock draft:
ReplyDeleteRd #1, draft pick #27: Trade with Pittsburg for EDGE Alex
Highsmith, plus 49ers get Pittsburg's draft pick #99
Rd #2, draft pick #58: Trade with Raiders for draft pick #67, plus
Raiders draft pick #117
49ers Draft pick #67: Keylan Rutledge, OG/C Georgia Tech
49ers Draft pick #99: Jalon Kilgore S/CB South Carolina
49ers Draft pick #117: De'Zhaun Stribling, WR Ole Miss
49ers Draft pick #127: Sam Roush, TE Stanford
49ers Draft pick # 133: Austin Barber, OT/OG Florida
49ers Draft pick # 138: VJ Payne, S Kansas St.
49ers Draft pick # 139: Nicholas Singleton, RB Penn St.
Nicely done.
DeleteOverall that would be a very strong outcome. Only change I would make would be to draft Bud Clark instead of Kilgore. They need a ball hawk.
DeleteAlex
DeletePicked Kilgore over Clark for following reasons.
System Versatility: Kilgore fits Morris' star position, can cover slot receiver, play S, LB & NB positions
Size & Run Defense: 6'1" X 210, can cover TE in slot
fits Morris' two high shell defense.
Alex,
DeleteVery nice work.
My only concern going into Thursday is that with the 49ers only garnering 13 sacks in 25, and the hope that Bosa and Mykel can play to their potential is no guarantee.
With that in mind, I believe that the 49ers go Edge. The recent FA signings of WR and OL could help sustain the team for another year, imo. I lean towards Edge.
20, not 13 sacks. Myles Garrett had 23 on his own.
Delete2 days until draftmas
ReplyDeleteEarlier this morning, Matt Maiocco has the 49ers drafting Edge, Malachi Lawrence at 27. There are some areas in Lawrence's game that needs work. But rushing the QB is not one of them. I'm on board with Maiocco on this one.
