The 49ers come into this game on a short week and short handed. No one is giving this team a shot at winning this game except for Adam Rank. If thats to happen the 49ers must find a way to run the football, score in the redzone and force someone other than Nacua to beat them. A very tall task but not impossible. Keep an eye on Demarcus Robinson. Fresh legs and maybe a chip on his shoulder facing his old team. I hate to do it but I've got the Rams over the 49ers in this one, 20-17.
The 49ers inactives for tonight:
Brock Purdy (toe)
Ricky Pearsall (knee)
Jauan Jennings (ribs, ankle)
Robert Beal (ankle)
Jordan Watkins (calf)
Nick Martin
Jordan James
I am currently doing terrible in my 2 pools this year. In one pool (we pick 3 pro and 3 college with spreads a week) I have lost 6 games over 2 weeks each game by a half point. It just kills me, I don't ever pick against the 9ers so tonights gimme (the Rams -6.5) I won't be picking. I predict the Rams by 17. My only hope is Jones doesn't get hurt. Keep Martinez warmed up. If the 9ers get down by 14 early get Jones out of there. I would like to see Martinez run some option plays.
ReplyDeleteCan never rule out a boil over, especially on a short week for both teams. But yeah, this feels like it could be a pretty heavy defeat.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't turnover the ball, we will keep it close. For the heck of it, I'm predicting a 49ers win 21-17 :)
ReplyDeleteDivision games are unpredictable....Stafford negates pass rush with short throws....which is ideal for us as we don't have a pass rush (!). Just play sound Zone Defense.
Let the Offense run through CMC and DRob. Tongues will be a factor against weak Rams LBs. Shanahan will be dialed in and ST will atone for last week's embarrassment.
I'm with you Mug. The 49ers will squeeze out a victory against all odds. Of course, the Rams will need make a number of mistakes, but that can happen.
ReplyDeleteA win tonight would make me forget about Sundays loss thats for sure.
ReplyDeleteA win tonight would make me forget every loss they have had the last 7 years. Well maybe not the 2 SBs.
DeleteThe 49ers promoted Adrian Martinez from the practice squad to the 53-man roster
ReplyDeleteThe 49ers also elevated Malik Turner and Trevis Gipson from the practice squad and released Jordan Jefferson.
It’s hard for me to see how we can beat the Rams tonight but I’ll remain hopeful.
ReplyDeleteWhy did the 49ers guarantee Purdy $181 M? Just don't get it. In 3 games, they're doing just fine with Jones and his $8 M 2-year contract.
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long until Jones is making 50 mill a year
DeleteJust WOW.

ReplyDeletePlease, take your med before the the guys with the butterfly nets find you and put you back in the rubber room
YES!
ReplyDeleteI'll take the 14 points over the Lams and tip my hat to Mac.
TE Tonges is proving to be a diamond in the rough!
ReplyDeleteAl Michaels probably needs to put the mic down.
ReplyDelete... and back track it a couple of years.........
DeleteHalftime 17-7 Love the offensive play calling. My Goodness, Mac Jones is excellent. Come on 9ers let's win!
ReplyDeleteWish we had a pass rush.
ReplyDeleteNo pass rush, and Chris Shula BADLY outcoaching Kyle Shanahan in the 2nd half. It's as if Kyle has no answers in his repertoire in the 2nd half. It's a bad look, but one we saw coming!
ReplyDeleteWe all know that it completely empty up there. So sad.
Delete9ers need a take away for a win
ReplyDeleteI don’t know about you but we needed a first down, not another run. Don’t get that.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the saying? No guts, no Glory? That phrase sums up everything you need to know about Kyle Shanahan. Never seen a HC so afraid to try and win a big game. He's like a deer in headlights! And unfortunately it taints everything he does right, just like tonight!

Anonymous,
DeleteYou got hit with a stinky mud-pie last night. One thing about leading with hate (in your analysis), it has an ugly embarrassing backfire.

DeleteWin or lose - Mac Jones is Braveheart!
ReplyDeleteWow, anything can happen in football.
ReplyDeleteAES
DeleteI'd call it a MOMENTUM building win!
9ers pull off the W I N 26 to Lams 23!
ReplyDeleteOur kicker was amazing, even from 59 yards.
ReplyDeleteMost accurate kickers in NFL history:
Delete1. Cameron Dicker 0.9429 (99/105)
2. Justin Tucker 0.8910 (417/468)
3. Eddy Piñeiro 0.8905 (122/137)
Eddy Piñeiro needs just one more FG to surpass J. Tucker, which would make him the 2nd most accurate Field Goal Kicker in NFL history. (As you see, Dicker the kicker recorded his 100th FGA in 2025 and debuts at No. 1)
Apparently, the 49ers didn't pay attention to the talking heads and naysayers.
ReplyDeleteGood prediction, AES
DeleteOpps that’s me.
DeleteThanks Felix. But it was just a guess.
DeleteWhat a game!
ReplyDeleteI criticize KS more than most...but what an unbelievable job with this hospital ward of players....just give him the Coach of the Year already and Saleh the D Coordinator of the year.
Mac Jones....was a stud! He is the best backup QB in the NFL! The young D is just growing up in front of our eyes.
Mug,
DeleteIs Saleh gone by the start of next season? I think a minority coordinator has to be with a team 2 years to get a comp pick. Maybe Demeco Ryans will be available next year.
I don't think he will be gone in 1 year Coach.
DeleteThis time around Saleh will be more circumspect. No way is he going to go to awful organizations such as Jets/Titans/Giants/Browns.
Other potentially lucrative destinations are Dolphins, Cardinals (if they miss playoffs again) and Ravens (if they miss playoffs). I don't think Saleh will choose Tua or Kyler as a QB. But Lamar is a different ball game altogether but there is about 10% chance that John Harbaugh gets fired.
I think Saleh would know how important a QB is. So my guess is he will wait one more year and take Mac along with him as a Bridge QB to a good organization or will wait for a good situation such as Ravens or Bengals to open up.
I apologize Mr. Bourne.
ReplyDeleteWe should have gone for the first down on 3rd down when we were backed up on the 2 yard line. A first down would have won the game. Shanahan went conservative in the third quarter; otherwise, it was beautifully coached. I'm stoked.
Epic victory! What an effort in all three phases. 3-0 in the division is huge! Enjoy everyone!!
ReplyDeleteSure is huge. Great effort with so many guys out.
DeleteI was wrong. I was wrong. I was very very wrong
ReplyDeleteSame! And very happy to be wrong
DeleteAlfred Collins floated like a butterfly and stung like a bee!
ReplyDeleteThe best is yet to come. And the upcoming teams the 49ers play just had a shiver down their spine.
ReplyDeleteAES.
DeleteIt was a great win but we lost 2 more D linemen for who knows how long and possibly Stout too. I'm just not sure how long they can keep winning with all of these injuries especially if they continue to lose a player or two every game
RB Christian McCaffrey, tonight was his 5th straight game with at least 100 scrimmage yards, tied with Paul Hofer (1980) for the 2nd-longest streak to start a season in franchise history. Roger Craig -- who else -- did it in 7 games in 1988.
ReplyDeleteCoach,
ReplyDeleteShanahan showed his offensive mastery last night with a somewhat broke-down team. The Oline and the D played like warriors with heart. The rookies are growing much faster than anticipated. All the 49ers have to do is hold the line until their top injured players return. Aiyuk, Kittle, Mustafa, Purdy, Pearsall are getting healthier by the day.
The future is looking very good for the 49ers right about now. I can't count them out.
