  2. Brock likely will never see his contract as written from 28 - 30 as written. There will be a restructure or a contract extension allowing the team to convert a fair amount of that cap to a signing bonus.
Bosa's contract will be the one that is hardest to work with... he is a player I would look to move at some point but it will cost sf any way it is done.

The 9er just converted $21.4 million of Bosa's salary into a bonus, clearing $17.1 million in cap space. My understanding is the deferral
created a $54.9 million cap hit for 2027, so I agree it mean they'll
    need to something.

  4. As much as I like Bosa, the inconvenient truth is that his production since his rookie season has been diminished by injury and contract hold out.
I will take the Bill Walsh method that if a players production no longer equals his contract, it's time to make some changes.

Does that mean unloading Bosa? No. It means becoming more pro-active in preparing the roster in the event that he could no longer provide the production of a few years ago.

Maybe the 49ers are already in the process of this with the draft of Height and fully healthy Mykel.

  5. Bosa will ball out if he's healthy.

  6. I certainly look forward to that (again).

  7. Don't Whitner said that "Height is a little light in the a$$" regarding his weight. Whitner believes that Romello will need another off-season (2027) to bulk up in order to be more NFL ready.

I don't see Height staying at his current weight. He will add more muscle throughout the next couple of years, imho. 245-250 could serve him well without losing any speed and agility.

    1. 1st and 2nd year players in the NFL usually put on weight because they are 20 to 22 years old and their bodies are still maturing. Height turned 25 before the draft. I don't see him gaining as much weight as the usual NFL rookie

    2. Interesting Take OC,
Normally I would tend to disagree based on them having nothing to do but train and get their diet right with few monetary concerns. Though when I thought through your argument I think you are mostly right, especially with what college athletes are making in college today.
He has the frame to add weight and probably still will but to what degree is definitely a question.

    3. 10 pounds of muscle is all he'll need.

    4. I agree. Muscle is like a natural body armor.

  8. That's true, Coach. But, even at 25 yrs, he can still put on muscle and weight with proper training and diet. Just my own (meaningless) opinion, but I don't believe Remollo gets past 245-250.
