I have noticed over the last 3 or 4 seasons that Williams tends to start very slowly. His PFF grades are quite a bit lower early in the year. Likely because he is held out of all preseason games and a number of practices. I bet if you took his grades over the last 13 games or so his rating would be quite a bit higher than 89.1
Sure, nice numbers from McKivitz. And I hope his play continues to ascend. But, TW is a generational talent whose history must be acknowledged. Even at his age he is still a top 10 player at his position. McKivitz has a Mt. Everest to climb before he can be in the same picture next to Trent.

A media talking head is trying to revive the idea of a Maxx Crosby possible to the 49ers again. I take it as just another effort from a reporter to keep himself relevant during the slow pre-summer days before TC arrives. Until I hear something from the 49ers FO, I'll file this away in the desparate for attention category.
I have a feeling that if the 49ers are winning at the trade deadline and their only weakness continues to be pass rush they may pull of a major trade for a pass rusher. I don't see them pulling off any major trades until then.
