8 days until draftmas. The last week or so there seems to be a movement in many mock drafts towards the 49ers drafting a LG. I believe it is the safest pick for a plug and play kind of player. I think they can possibly get an A level guard even if they trade back 5 to 10 picks
Interesting because, and I hope I’m not stating the obvious, as the roster is currently situated and assuming they extend TW, the only spots where they might think they need starting quality players are LG, DPR, and S. So unless there is a key free agent signing momentarily, maybe they will trade back from round 1 take a guard first.
A couple of the OL players the 49ers have hosted live or via video, could be considered as late 1st picks. Maybe they are just doing their due diligence, or...
I think they're reading the room, that the position value available at #27 will be either WR, OT or edge. No doubt have guys from each of those positions they like at #27, and making sure they stack them right.
My read here is they are setting themselves up to take BPA from one of those three positions.

Agree with Scooter. This is a BPA draft, and it looks as though the Niners think so too.
