Which is to say, don't assume their pick at 27 will be a player they bring in on a visit. History says the chances are twice as high they won't bring the player they select in round 1 in for a visit.
I still find it interesting how news of all 3 came out around the same time, and how few other visits are known. That absolutely smells of the team wanting those visits to be known... for whatever reason.
Which of those three do you think Shanahan favors? I'll stick with Concepcion. I think they could be open to using a 4th to move up for whichever one they covet.

My take, Morris puts a much bigger emphasis on twitched up pass rushers along the D-line but has similarities in the general structure of what Saleh calls on 1st/2nd downs.
Depends on which iteration you refer to for both. Saleh had a lot of lighter, faster DE/ OLB types at the Jets than he used with the 49ers, and ran a hybrid 3-4/ 4-3/ 5-2. I think that's the direction Saleh would have wanted to take them if he stayed. And it's where I think Morris will also take them.
I think the main difference is in the slot position. Morris likes using a STAR. Not sure if Saleh used that much with the Jets, but was also something he started doing more of last year with Pinnock.
But yeah, I general I think they are very similar. Which I think is partly why Morris hired Ulbrich.
Regarding Stukes, Brugler and Broadus identified him as a potential surprise late first round pick. Not that they expect it, but not outside the realm of possibility as a storyline nobody is talking about.

I am not one of them. I think he's being overrated since the combine. Good prospect; when he was being talked about as a 2nd round guy he was good value, as a late 1st rounder I can see why teams would take the chance and prefer him over others but I don't love it.

Getting a starting calibre CB this late in FA, and likely for very little $, is a nice bit of business. Hopefully he can keep his head on straight. If he does, nice competition for Green.
I think this signing also means Hobbs is very much being looked at as the replacement for Pinnock, as I suspected, rather than a replacement for Lucas.

I think Luter is on the move and done with the team.
I think everyone will be kept through camp and allowed to compete. There's room on the roster for all of Lenoir, Green, Stout, Jones, Hobbs and Luter, if you assume Hobbs will take over Pinnock's role.
I think the biggest surprise of the 2026 camp will be Jakob Robinson. At 5'10" he can play inside and outside. I think he will beat out either Hobbs or Jones and possibly Luter
I am now completely out on talking up UDFAs that don't make the 53 right away and stick. So few of these guys go on to do anything, and the ones that do usually show they belong right away.
Robinson will already be 26 this year and has never been on an active roster. I would be very surprised if he forces his way onto the 53 this year without a significant injury crisis.
Robinson is older because he had the extra covid year not because he bounced around other camps. Last year was his rookie year and he seemed to be headed for the 53 before he broke his arm. I think the 49ers have had great luck with UDFAs Jeff Wilson, Raheem Mostert, Matt Breida, Kendrick Bourne, Emanuel Moseley, Azeez Al-Shaair, Ross Dwelley, Jordan Mason, and Kevin Givens. Now I am not sure how many of those guys made the 53 right away but I think more than a few of them spent some time on the PS
I'm not saying he can't, I'm just saying I refuse to talk up the chances of such players because very few work out. If he does, awesome. But odds are against it happening.
The other thing I'd point out about the UDFAs they had success with - they almost all came in the first few years ShanaLynch was in charge when they were completely overhauling a talent depleted roster. Opportunity was significantly greater for UDFAs in those years.
Mason is really the only one since 2019 that has done anything of note, and he made the initial 53 in year 1.
I'd love to see them strike gold with some more UDFAs, but I'm not holding my breath on it either.
North Dakota DB Jonnie Wiltshire is another player they could bring in that can play slot, overhang, some outside corner, blitz from the box and the edge. Likely UDFA.
Per NFL Red Zone. Of the top 25, 2025 rookie class players to make big contributions, there were no 49ers on the list. Mikell gets a pass because he was injured. But the other rookies other than Upton Stout only showed minimal flashes. I believe that last year's rookies will do much in 2026. But, the 49ers need to find some good contributions from this year's rookie class.
I don't believe that anyone here doubts Purdy's abilities. But after 30 years of not winning a SB, and 3 SB loses, all I ask for is a SB trophy before I clock-out in this life.

STAR meaning he likes a bigger DB that can play anywhere in the secondary, 6'1 205 type.

Texas A&M has a lot of good players. I really like Tyler Onyedim if you could get him on day 3.

'25 Purdy led all QB's in Redzone EPA at 25.86. The next on the list was Goff at 20.77. Adding Mike Evans is only going to make Purdy even better!
