  1. 9ers announce open training camp practice schedule:
    * 11 of the team's practices in Santa Clara will be open to the public.
    * The 9ers will welcome fans to their facility on July 25, July 27-29, August 4-5, August 7, and August 11-12. Season ticket holders will also be invited to attend practice on July 24.
    * The 9ers will report to training camp on July 22 and their first practice of camp on July 23 will be the first of those 11 open sessions.

    * The August 7 practice will be a joint practice with the Broncos. That will also be "87 Day" in honor of the late Dwight Clark and the 9ers will donate all proceeds from ticket sales to the Golden Heart Fund which Clark helped create to support former 49ers players in need.

  2. Can't wait for TC to get here....less than 2 weeks now.

Here are the camp battles I'm looking forward to (in the order of importance IMO):

    1) LB2 - Martin vs Winters or will it be one of the new "Saleh guys" on the roster?
    2) I will put the entire D-Line and DB group here. There is way too much turnover to single out position battles here. Slot CB, FS, DE2 and DT1/2 battles should be fascinating.
    3) RG - Ben Bartch is the front-runner, I think. But can Zakelj or one of the rookies supplant him?
    4) Kicker - Will Moody stick around another year to psychologically torment me? :)
    5) WR3 and WR4 - I'm assuming by end of season, we will have WR1 - JJ, WR2 - Pearsall, WR3 - BA and WR4 - DR. But for Game 1, who among Watkins or Cowing will be up the pecking order?
    6) TE3 - Can either Tonges or Mason Pline take the reins here or is it gonna be another Dwelley show?
    7) RB3 - Can one of the rookies supplant the Vets?

    Nightmare scenarios:

    1) While any injury to the Big 6 (Purdy, Kittle, Williams, Bosa, Warner or DeMo) will potentially mean we don't make the playoffs, I think a catastrophic scenario will be an injury to JJ.
    2) What if both kickers cannot thrive under pressure and are no good?
    3) Holdout/Contract situation and/or Injury situation persists for Alfred Collins.

    1. Safe bet this is the most competitive training camp under this regime.

I'd add signing rookie DT Alfred Collins to your list.

    1. GEEP,
Collins signing will be part of a domino effect. If the other 2nd round picks who were chosen before him begin to sign then so will Collins. It will be interesting to see if those other teams cave and give their picks guaranteed contracts. I wonder if the agents haven't got together and made a pact to stick together. It wouldn't totally surprise me if most of those 2nd rounders don't hold out into camp or even past the start of the season.

  4. I've always been one to cheer for the underdog.
These are the 4 I'll be pulling for in TC.
Conner Colby, Isaiah Neyor, Mason Pline, and Sebastian Valdez. Colby may be the only one with a shot.
